After searching the internet for a crawl space repair professional, a homeowner in Cumming, GA scheduled a free inspection with our office. As a result of high moisture in the crawl space, the floor above the crawl space sagged in multiple places. Existing support posts appeared unstable and ineffective and would need to be removed and replaced.

The installation of a crawl space vapor barrier system called CleanSpace, will ensure their crawl space will always be protected from high humidity, mold, and moisture problems.
A vapor barrier does exactly what its name says: it provides a barrier against water vapor. When warm air meets a cool surface, condensation forms. When this happens inside the crawl space, the moisture can lead to mold growth, cause wood beams to rot, and attract pests.
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is a 20-mil thick liner (similar to a pool liner) is installed throughout the customers crawl space. This vapor barrier system will control the crawl space moisture as well as preventing new mold growth due to an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh that is built within the liner.
Tilman noticed the crawl space was vented and explained how outside air enters the crawl space through vents and openings and cools down when it enters the crawl space, raising the relative humidity inside. To prevent air from coming into the crawl space, (7) CleanSpace Vent Seals were installed to stop the outside air from coming in.
It was suggested that in addition to the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System and the CleanSpace Vent Seals, a SaniDry Sedona crawl space dehumidification system also be installed to pull remaining moisture from the crawl space air. While the homeowners appreciated the suggestion, they decided to stick with the crawl space dehumidifier they were already using.
