A realtor friend referred Atlanta Basement Systems to this Alpharetta, GA homeowner for crawl space repair. Their crawl space began emitting a musty smell, causing them to become concerned about mold growth, leaks, humidity, and pests. They decided to give us a call to request a free crawl space repair assessment. After inspecting the crawl space, Patrick Stephens, System Design Specialist, proposed a permanent crawl space repair solution to address all of the homeowner's concerns, including musty odors, mold growth, leaks, and pests. To address each of the main threats to the customer's crawl space, Patrick recommended our 4-Step Crawl Space Encapsulation system. To prevent water intrusion problems into the crawl space and water damage, our crew installed the WaterGuard Interior Perimeter Drainage System and the TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This was the first step in our 4-step process to encapsulate the crawl space. The next step was to stop moisture seepage from entering through the ground and foundation walls. In order to accomplish this, the crew installed drainage matting on the crawl space floor as well as CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls, around the piers, and over the floor mats. The vapor barrier will prevent mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations. The third step was to seal any air leaks in the crawl space. Foam board insulation was used to seal the open vents, around the rim joists, any visible cracks that allow outside elements to enter, and around pipes and electrical wires. It's one of the most critical steps in the process because pests thrive in damp, humid crawl spaces. Last but not least, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to condition the air. Dehumidifying the crawl space the Sedona removes musty odors and controls humidity, two problems the customer was eager to solve. EverLast Crawl Space Door

We replaced the crawl space entry door with a custom EverLast crawl space door. These tight seals prevent moisture from entering the space, and they won't rot or rust.

Drainage and Dehumidification

A TripleSafe Sump Pump System will protect their crawl space from water damage and floods, while the SaniDry Sedona will remove musty odors and maintain a low humidity level. Additionally, the Sedona has a self-draining mechanism that automatically drains into the sump pump system, so the homeowner will never have to empty heavy buckets of water.
