This customer got in contact with us about a high radon reading in the crawl space. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that forms when another element, uranium, in the soil is decaying. This can be caused by many different things, but for this crawl space the issue was more than likely a high moisture content in the soil that was her crawl space floor. Our crew was sent out and were able to get her radon reading. To fix this issue in the crawl space, they installed CleanSpace and CleanSpace vent covers. This creates a vapor barrier between the Earth and the home, which does not allow for moisture to get into the crawl space. This paired with a EZ-flow drainage system and a sump pump ensure that there would no longer be excess moisture in the space. The SaniDry Sedona was also installed, and this keeps the crawl space dry and the relative humidity and moisture levels controlled. These pieces together will keep the moisture levels in the soil of the crawl space dry, which in turn will keep the radon levels down. This customer was satisfied with the results.
